Rive Collaboration vs ExodeUI

Rive collaboration is more mature than ExodeUI's today. Here is what each tool offers teams, and where ExodeUI takes a different approach.

Updated October 2026 · We make ExodeUI

Direct Answer

Rive lets several people edit the same file at once, keeps an automatic revision history, and offers Libraries for reusable components on Voyager and above. The Free plan includes 3 collaborative files. ExodeUI has real-time collaboration in progress, plus versioning with commits and branches through its MCP server and CLI, and its open .exode JSON files can live in your own Git repository. For larger design teams today, Rive is the safer choice.

Collaboration in Rive

Rive saves files automatically and tracks changes in a revision history, even when several people edit the same file at once, and you can restore or name revisions. Workspaces organise files and people, and Libraries let you publish components once and reuse them across a project.

Collaboration in ExodeUI

ExodeUI's real-time collaboration, with live cursors and invite links, works but is still marked as in progress. Its versioning is aimed at developers: commits, branches and checkouts through the MCP server, and a CLI that diffs files and flags breaking changes. Because the source is JSON, you can also keep files in your own Git repository and review changes in pull requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can several people edit a Rive file at once?

Yes. Rive tracks everyone's changes in the file's revision history.

How many collaborative files does Rive's free plan include?

Three. Paid plans include unlimited files, and Voyager adds Libraries and more collaboration features.

Can I keep ExodeUI files in Git?

Yes. The .exode source is JSON, so you can commit it, diff it and review changes like code.

Is ExodeUI good for large design teams?

Not yet as good as Rive. Its real-time collaboration is still in progress. It suits small teams and teams that already review work in Git.
