LottieFiles is two things: a library of ready-made Lottie animations and a set of tools (players, plugins for Figma and After Effects, Lottie Creator, converters). Both have free and paid parts.
The free plan
According to its pricing FAQ, the free plan gives unlimited preview, testing and sharing, access to the free animation library and basic edits to those animations. That is enough for a designer who needs a few loaders or icons.
Commercial use of free animations
Free public animations are covered by the Lottie Simple License. It lets you download, modify, publish and distribute the files, including for commercial purposes. Attribution is not required, though LottieFiles encourages it. Two conditions matter: modified files stay under the same licence, and you cannot collect files from LottieFiles to build a similar or competing service.
Premium animations and marketplace items can have different terms, so read the licence on the animation page itself.
When the paid plans make sense
Paid plans are for teams that manage many animations, need advanced editing, shared libraries and workspace controls. The listed prices were Individual $19.99 and Team $24.99 per user per month, billed annually, when we checked in November 2026. Check the pricing page for your currency and current terms.
